The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development supported by a grant from 174.512 euros about improving irrigation works of the Community Irrigation Source Payee, Fines, for a project budgeted at 291.806 euros, with which the irrigators have widened and rehabilitated irrigation raft and have built a discharge pipe from the raft to other lines, and for laying a pipeline connection with the conduct of Negratín-Almanzora.
The grant was co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, under the Rural Development Programme Andalusia 2007-2013, related to the development and adaptation of agriculture and forestry infrastructure.
The territorial delegate of Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment, José Manuel Ortiz, appreciates the commitment of Almeria agricultural sector to improve their irrigation structures, "Bet that account and have the support of the Junta de Andalucía". De facto, Ortiz recalled that a few days ago, the Ministry has given grants to eleven irrigation communities in the province of Almería, which together add up public support 7,5 million, practically 90% investment to be undertaken by the irrigators, amounting to almost 9 million. With these investments, above 6.000 members of the irrigation communities can improve and consolidate irrigation systems supplying water to almost 5.000 hectares of crops.
