The tenth edition of the 'Music Week Albox' will take place this year 29 May to 5 June and will be one of the most varied and attractive in terms of its musical repertoire. The program includes the performances of jazz groups, South American music or classical music, among others genre. All this complemented with the exhibition ‘Craftsmanship’ by María Verdú Terry and paintings by Inmaculada Oller Najas. One more year, The Neighborhood Association ‘La Loma’, with the collaboration of the Albox City Council and other groups and institutions, has organized this cultural initiative.
The Parroquia de La Concepción and the Plaza de San Francisco will be the two stages, that will host the different scheduled concerts. As an opening act on Monday 29 May, to 20 hours (schedule of all performances except the last one on 3 June), will take place the guitar concert that will star Pedro Vicente Sánchez Carrero. Also, The Chamber Music of the students of the Professional Conservatory of Baza will not be lacking.
De otro lado, jazz music has its space reserved for Tuesday 30 May with ‘Marbie Big Band’ which will be followed by the audition of the Albox Conservatory students, they will demonstrate on Wednesday day 31 May everything they have learned throughout the year. Then it will be the turn of the trumpet duo with Santiago Rosales accompanied on the piano by Bartolomé Guillén. Thursday 1 June will be the turn of the students of the Music School of Albox, who will do a full audition. For the next day (2 June) and at the same time, South American music will fill the church of La Concepción with the group ‘La Guardia de Dios’.
The performances will continue on 3 June (19.30 hours) with the versions of the Youth Band and Municipal Band of Albox. The musical day on Sunday will be starred by the choir ‘Virgen del Mar’ that will sing the Holy Mass, while the soprano Alina will sing different songs accompanied on the piano by the Albojense musician Bartolomé Guillén. The ‘X Musical Week of Albox’ will close with the songs of memory rescued by José Luis Cano and his keyboard.
Councillor for Culture, Aurora Cerdán, He stressed that "the‘ La Loma de Albox Neighborhood Association ’continues its cultural work with this event that has become a hallmark of the neighborhood". According to Cerdán "each edition exceeds the previous one, so from the Albox Culture Area we will continue supporting this initiative". In ten years of ‘Music Week’, the number of activities and their quality has increased compared to the first edition. It is an activity that provides the opportunity to act and show their good work to students of both the Conservatory and the School of Music, bringing quality music to all young and old in the municipality. For his part, from the neighborhood association they have shown their "satisfaction for the celebration of the tenth edition of the event, considering how difficult it is to consolidate cultural bets like this ”.
