Contentious Chamber of the Supreme Court (TS) rejected last 25 April the appeal brought by the city of Cuevas del Almanzora against the judgment of the High Court of Andalusia which condemned him to compensate with 13 million euros to the developer Monsoriu S.L., according to the information circulating on various digital media.

The amount cited, must be added the amount of accrued interest and costs, which puts the figure that the Consistory should compensate the applicant in the environment of the 16 million.

The events start at 2005, when the team of popular government then granted a license to Monsora, S.L. to construct 110 housing under an urban figure, of 'delimitation of consolidated urban land', "On which the Andalusian had warned its illegality 10 days before", according to municipal sources.

"It's a huge stick confesses Mayor, Antonio Fernández Liria (PSOE)—. If we do not set aside the judgment, Cuevas enter into an impasse that will be condemned 15 years paying off debt exclusively '. Alderman has said to be doing "the impossible to make that judgment set aside, but if we fail, we will have to deal with compensation or make available property sufficient to cover the amount in full within three months. Anyway, I still maintain the hope that common sense triumph. The Cuevans not deserve such condemnation. We must do everything possible to do so that those responsible for mismanagement '.
