Big step for the normalization of urban housing outside Albox management and Andalusia. Councillor for Planning of the City of Albox, Sonia Cerdán, signed this Thursday the documents that allow the first regularization in Andalusia of illegal homes built under the parcel model. These are ten buildings from different neighborhoods in the municipality whose urban situation could not be normalized before the recent modification of the Andalusian Urban Planning Law (LOUA), approved by the Andalusian Parliament in July.

At the signing of the files by the Councilor for Urban Planning, the Environment delegate was present, Antonio Martinez; the Andalusian MP of the PSOE, Rodrigo Sánchez; the Councilor for Tourism and President of AUAN, Maura Hillen and the staff of the Urban Planning Area who have worked to end the problem of out-of-order housing. “It has been many years of effort and hard work. We have been at the side of those affected, of entrepreneurs… We have had all the parties involved in the urban situation and of course with the support of the Junta de Andalucía and those affected with the AUAN association at the forefront”, The councilor for urban planning in Albox has expressed, Sonia Cerdán. A total of 350 Albox families will be able to benefit from the modification of the LOUA and thus regulate their urban situation.

The importance of the modification of the LOUA and the beginning of its application by the Albox City Council is maximum, since it allows to provide homes with basic services such as electricity and water, they couldn't access before. It should be remembered that the role of the Albox City Council has been key in the modification of the LOUA since the beginning of its processing, being one of the most involved parties and whose work will be worth normalizing the urban situation of thousands of homes in Andalusia

Article modification 185 of the LOUA has also allowed the crime to build in urban subdivision to prescribe, something that was not previously contemplated and that made urban problems endure despite the fact that most of the buildings were built more than a decade ago.

In this sense, The government team held a meeting on Monday with dozens of residents of the urbanization ‘Lemon Tree’ to inform them about the procedures to regularize their situation. Information that will be extended to all residents who have lived in a difficult context in recent years due to their urban situation and which the work of the Albox City Council and the Andalusian Government can now solve
