The Plenary Hall of the City of Vera was the venue that hosted last Monday the formal establishment of the Municipal Council of Children with delivery to school Elementary and Secondary delegates from the relevant accreditation. Councillor for Education, Maria Montoya, briefly recalled the meaning and function of the Municipal Council of Children, "A body of citizen participation which will address issues relating to the situation of children, and adolescents in our town ". Also, Maria Montoya explained that the creation of the Municipal Council of Children is inspired by the Convention on the Rights of the Child and arises from the need to coordinate the actions in this matter, to guarantee these rights, among which it includes the participation of children, and adolescents in those proceedings.
De otro lado, the Councillor for Education, stated that "as we join the government team, we find that in the Municipal Council for Children were only represented members belonging to Secondary because it was time that had not renewed. We had to make choices of new members in the primary stage because there was no representative of such children in the Municipal Council. Thus, the Municipal Council for Children is now fully organized 51 representatives, 28 Girls and 23 children, Primary and Secondary ".
The mayor veratense, Felix Lopez, expressed satisfaction at the same time invited the new members of the Municipal Council of Children to engage in tasks of responsibility having been elected representatives of the school community.
Among other activities of the Municipal Council for Children of Vera in collaboration with UNICEF and commemoration of Children's Day, Maria Montoya, explained that "in addition to attending the Meeting of Local Council, This Monday we will be in the Andalusian Parliament ".
