The auditorium “Vera City” of that Andalusian village has hosted this past Saturday selective test LVIII International Festival of Cante de las Minas. Among registered contestants participated in the category of cante María José Carrasco (Seville), “Petro” (Cádiz) and Jesús León Márquez (Seville). For dance intervened Juan Fernández (Cádiz) and Monica Iglesias (Madrid). Last, in the category of guitar he attended José Marcos Serrato (Seville).
During the event, the village headman of Portmán, Ventura Lozano, who attended on behalf of the City of La Union, he emphasized “the great importance of these selective tests, since these contestants can leave Mining Lamp, which it is the highest award of the Festival Cante de las Minas and which expresses the maximum grandeur of flamenco”.
“The Foundation Cante de las Minas decentralizes the festival through these selective tests and thus approached the festival to various municipalities. A municipality like Vera have this screening test is a great satisfaction for the closeness and affinity that we have a very long time”, Lozano noted.
For his part, Councilor for Culture of the City of Vera, Isabel de Haro, He wanted to highlight the appreciation of the town to the Foundation Cante de las Minas by holding these tests Vera.
Once completed all a test, The jury will review all submitted competitors and determine who goes to the semifinals of the International Festival of Cante de las Minas, to be developed in the Cathedral of Cante, the old public market of La Union, day 8, 9 and 10 August, It is the grand final on Saturday 11 August.
