Emergency works beaches of Vera damaged by the last great time

Performance on the beaches affected by the storm in Vera.

The emergency works due to the storms at the end of last year and the beginning of 2017 that affected the coast of Almería are currently being carried out in the municipality of Vera. These works that are part of the so-called Plan Litoral 2017 which will involve an investment of 900.000 euros are being developed in numerous beaches in the province of Almería.

In the municipality of Vera, the emergency works consist of the contribution of 15.000 m3 of sand to the beach of El Playazo. Specifically, it is the transfer of clean sand from the Puerto Rey area.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment approved this Plan to recover the beaches of the East and South of Spain that had been affected by the storms of December and January. The damage produced has basically consisted of the loss of material on the beaches of the province.

The works that are being carried out on the coast include contributions and transfers of sand and also reprofiling of the coastline to stop the damage of erosion in these beaches of Almeria.
