The Board delivered to the mill Olisur Tíjola a grant from 240.300 euros to expand its facilities.

The SAT Tíjola invests more 570.000 euros in a project to expand its crushing capacity and storage of olives.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development has submitted to the Agricultural Society Transformation (SAT) Olisur, Tíjola (Almería), a grant from 240.388 euros for a project to expand the mill. This is a public aid which is “the 42 percent of the investment by the company facilities and equipment that will increase the crushing capacity and storage of olives, processing and bone”.

As reported by the regional government in a note, subsidized project involves the expansion of mining capacity, with the installation of a continuous line of 300 tons of products each 24 hours; and the increase of the storage capacity of the installation clean olive four new hoppers, and the doubling of the byproducts removal capacity (bones) installing a stoner 20 tonnes.


The grant is part of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013 to increase the competitiveness of the agricultural sector and increasing the added value of products, and is co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (Feader) –an 75 percent– and funds from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment –the 25 percent–.

Through the Rural Development Group Almanzora, SAT has also recently hosted a public subsidy –80.700 euros– for the construction of a biomass store, with the purpose of “alpeorujo leverage generated in the mill for use as fuel in the plant itself and sell it to private”.

The territorial delegate of Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment, José Manuel Ortiz, has valued the “effort” being made by food companies Almeria, as the SAT Olisur, for “modernize its facilities, in order to improve service and increase the added value of production”. An effort that, as noted, “share the Andalusian, that despite the economic and financial difficulties, It is next to food companies”.

Olisur was established in 1998, with the objective of manufacturing, pack, storage and marketing of olive oil. The company obtained the product of a 2.500 growers in several municipalities in the province of Almeria. The campaign 2010 produced some 950.000 kilos of olive oil and more than three million pounds of pomace. The company markets its product under the brand 'Tijoliva'.
