The Municipality of Cuevas del Almanzora, through the Department of Social Welfare and Equality, presented this morning the campaign of the 25 November, in commemoration of the International Day against gender violence, with which the singer Rozalén collaborates.
The Mayor Antonio Fernández Liria and the mayor of equality Melchora Caparrós have announced the program of activities that the consistory has prepared in the Wall of diversity and equality, which is located on Avenida Andalucía.
The councilors have presented in this place the mural of the "Violet Door" that has been made to commemorate this day and that has had the support and collaboration of the well-known singer Rozalén, that has inspired this drawing with the lyrics of one of his best known songs, "The Violet Door", an anthem against gender violence that pays special tribute to all women who have been abused.
Both have shown their "special thanks to the singer, for collaborating with our municipality in this campaign and giving voice to end this scourge "
The first mayor highlighted "the strong commitment that the council has to achieve a people free from sexist aggression, more just and egalitarian ", for which he has urged citizens to "not be an accessory to any type of aggression and to maintain an attitude of zero tolerance."
For his part, The mayor of Social Welfare has been in charge of publicizing the activities organized by the Municipal Information Center for Women and that will be held in the municipality in the coming days.
As the councilor explained, “a wide and dynamic program has been organized with the slogan“ Building a society free of gender violence ”to commemorate this date., aimed mainly at the child and youth population thanks to coordination with schools ".
