The Ministry of Agriculture supports some projects that disseminate cultural heritage, archeology and landscape of the province.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development has given a grant of almost 16.500 Euro Group Almanzora Rural Development for the organization of a new edition of cycling routes 'Almond Blossom'. The initiative includes five routes municipalities Chirivel, Taberno, Oria, Albox, Abla and Abrucena. Among other objectives, organizers aim to promote traditional agriculture and the conservation of cultural heritage and landscape, and to promote the consumption of products in Almond. Apart from the practice of hiking, a photo contest will be held.

Also, the GDR Almanzora has received a grant of 76.774 euros, for the project 'Almería, discover assets', which aims to disseminate the cultural heritage of rural areas of the province as a means of approach to the identity of the people and as a resource for tourism and cultural projection. This will take place based on the presence in social media strategy.

Project archeology and landscape

For his part, Association for Rural Development Almanzora, has received a grant of nearly 15.000 euros for the project 'Archaeology and paisaje'-, intended to show the relationship between heritage, archeology, landscape and territory, and the need to ensure adequate dissemination to become a tourist and economic resource. The project involves designing five archaeological tours in each of the counties that encompass the GDR in the province, with the subsequent publication of a monograph on the itineraries, written by experts and researchers. The routes are planned: the Sorbas Yesares; the county of Los Vélez (Vélez-Blanco); the Alpujarra (Dalías and Berja); the hamlet of Huebro (Nijar); and Alto Almanzora (Purchena, Tíjola y Bacares).

These projects, co-financed by 80% European Feder funds and a 20% with funding from the Government of Andalusia, "They help to generate employment opportunities in the villages of the province", as said José Manuel Ortiz.

Curbing rural depopulation

The territorial delegate of Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment, José Manuel Ortiz congratulates the GDR-partner entities of the Ministry in the implementation of policies for rural areas- "By the initiatives, despite the economic and financial difficulties in recent years, continues to implement projects that in addition to generating wealth and employment, are allowing many young people do not have to go outside their villages to seek work and, therefore, They are holding the depopulation of our rural areas ".

The Andalusian, Ortiz has expressed according, also supports these initiatives with the Inland Tourism Plan which will favor the enhancement of historical and cultural heritage of Andalusia.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development is committed to cooperation between regions and rural development groups as a strategy to exploit the opportunities offered by rural areas in the context of the new European program for the period 2014-2020. In this regard, through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (Feader), also continue to support projects of transnational and interregional cooperation carried out by these institutions in the framework of the implementation of local development strategies.
