The delegate of Education and Sports of the Board in Almería, Antonio Jimenez, accompanied by the head of the Planning and Schooling service of the Territorial Delegation of Education, Maribel Fernandez, today visited different educational centers in the municipalities of Purchena, Albanchez, Líjar and Tíjola, to know first-hand what are the current needs in them.
During the day, The person in charge of Education has learned about the works that the Junta de Andalucía is carrying out in the Center for Infant and Primary Education (CEIP) "San Ginés" by Purchena, that have an investment of more than 415.000 euros. In his visit to Purchena he has been accompanied by the mayor of the town, Juan Miguel Tortosa, the director of the CEIP, M.ª Angustias Sánchez and the director of the IES Entresierras, Francisco Fernandez.
Now, At CEIP San Ginés, two different actions are being developed to improve its educational infrastructures. On one side, the works of reform and adaptation of educational spaces, that are in their final phase, have had an investment higher than the 306.000 euros. Thanks to this action, all the toilets in the center have been renovated, heating installation and safety improvements have been made, plus other modifications.
Moreover, The works to adapt the school canteen located in the IES Entresierras facilities have just begun, space adjacent to CEIP San Ginés, which represent an investment by the Ministry of Education and Sports of more than 108.000 euros. This space, consisting of a catering kitchen and dining room, will be transformed into a versatile kitchen (being able to offer food service on site or catering) and dining room. The dining room will be equipped with a toilet and a plinth tiled in non-porous material and easy to clean.. A direct access will also be generated from the CEIP to the dining room, without depending on the input from the IES Entresierras. The contracting of this work has been carried out through the new Framework Agreement for works launched by the Andalusian Public Agency for Education, which makes it possible to speed up the deadlines for awarding the actions, thus reducing the times for the start-up of the works.
Antonio Jiménez has highlighted "the commitment made by the Ministry of Education and Sports regarding the improvement of educational infrastructures in our province", as well as that "this commitment is being materialized in the 114 projects that are currently being carried out in Almería ”.
On this same day, The Education delegate has visited the Albanchez and Líjar headquarters of the Los Filabres rural school, accompanied by their respective mayors, Amador López and Sergio Sánchez and the director of CPR Los Filabres, Mark Oller.
