Cuevas del Almanzora is added to the draft Local Health Action Network

The Ministry of Health and the Municipality of Cuevas del Almanzora today signed an agreement for the implementation in the municipality of RELAS Project (Local Action Network Health). Through this program seeks to strengthen intersectorality and give more prominence to the consistory in promoting, protection and health prevention, given its proximity to citizens.

La firma del acuerdo la han llevado a cabo en el Ayuntamiento de Cuevas del Almanzora, territorial delegate Equality, Health and Social Policy Almería, Jose Maria Martin, and the mayor of the municipality, Antonio Fernández. José María Martín ha explicado que “con esta firma Cuevas del Almanzora se convierte en el undécimo municipio almeriense que se suma a este proyecto, which has already reached a population of about 179.000 people in the province, more than one 25% of the total".

Junto a Cuevas del Almanzora, They have already signed agreements of accession to the RELAS Project locations Vícar, Huercal-Overa, Pulpí, Benahadux, Adra, Pannier, El Ejido, Berja, Rioja y La Mojonera. En Andalucía ya son 130 municipios y dos diputaciones las que forman parte de la Red de Acción Local en Salud, lo que se traducen en el 13% de los ayuntamientos.

El acuerdo suscrito hoy tiene como objetivo el abordaje de los problemas de salud de Cuevas del Almanzora, through the convergence of the sectors involved. For this, the integration of them will take place in a local network that answers to the needs detected. In a second phase of the project, the proposed strategies will be reflected in a comprehensive plan of action of municipal character.

The local network will consist of a team of professionals, called 'Group Motor', donde estarán presentes el Ayuntamiento de Cuevas del Almanzora a, Territorial Delegation of Equality, Health and Social Policy, the Northern Area Health Almería, the primary care center of the city and citizens through their associations and local agents. They will work together to develop actions to improve the quality of life of the population.

Este ‘Grupo Motor’ realizará en primer lugar un diagnóstico sobre los problemas y los factores de riesgo para la salud con más prevalencia entre la población de Cuevas del Almanzora. Habits and lifestyles, the health of citizens, as well as the social determinants that affect it, will be the main issues to be analyzed. This studio, called 'Local Health Profile', It will establish what actions to be executed to improve the health and quality of life of its population are, and the prioritization of these actions according to their importance and feasibility.

The citizens of the municipality (through their associations, groups and companies) They will have a major role in the development of the project and may participate in all phases of the same, both in detecting problems and providing possible measures for improvement, since they will be the main beneficiaries of the action plan.
