It is now open registration period for the eighth edition of Course of realism and figuration painters run by two “teachers of national and international painting” Antonio López and Andrés García Ibáñez, to be held at the Museum 'Casa Ibáñez’ Olula River, of 20 to the 24 May. The initiative has the support of the Provincial de Almería and Art Foundation 'Ibáñez-Cosentino'.
The eighth edition of this prestigious professional painting course was presented Tuesday at the Provincial de Almería, in an act in which intervened Deputy Provincial Culture, Antonio Jesus Rodriguez, Mayor Olula del Río, Antonio Martínez Pascual, and the director of the Museum 'Casa Ibáñez’ and the Foundation 'Ibáñez-Cosentino', J. M. Martin Robles.
This activity has become a benchmark nationally and internationally, because it has a great acceptance among professionals and students painting around the world. Rodriguez congratulated the promoters of the course by the prestige achieved and recalled that the Provincial “considers it essential to support this unique initiative, tremendously important for the province”.
The Mayor of Olula del Rio explained that, every year, this course “full of illusion and art” the streets of a town that has become “cultural capital of the Almanzora”.
Last, Martin Robles, has revealed that “this course brings together, from 2012, the most prominent painters of the national and international scene”. The workshop will be held on the premises of the Museum 'Casa Ibáñez’ Olula River, for five days, of Monday 20 to Friday 24 May. Each participant must bring all the necessary equipment to perform the exercises.

The cost of the course is 200 euros for the selected artists, for tuition, and the number of seats will be 36. The selection of participants and reserves will run exclusively by Antonio López Andrés García Ibáñez and.

In these eight years, there have been more than 900 Applications to participate in the course from all over Spain and countries like Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Colombia, China, U.S., Mexico, Russia, Italy and Ukraine, inter alia.
